Was this record really put out by a car company?
Yes it wasScion use to represent underground music in a similar fashion as Red Bull, now.
Got one sealed copy today from US. It is clear vinyl, with very light touch of black (way far to count it smoked or veined). Since I’m banned from contributors list, so I cannot add it as a new version, but I’m ready to make some photos. Please let me know, if anybody ready to help!
Most songs seem to feature a preset sound from the MicroKorg
I thought it was interesting as this is a release for Scion and not his own label. Maybe something he put together real quick without attachment, maybe not. Now what is the point of your comment?
Gotta love discogs production experts. There's lots of pictures of KDJ in front of MicroKorgs and MPC's, how about we give you each of those machines and you come back in a year with some timeless Detroit house? You know what presets he's using so it should be easy for you
What's the point of this comment? Maybe you would prefer he saved some custom patches and used those?
Is it actually any good?
The ones Kenny himself sold @ Movement, were the black/grey marbled ones.
UPDATE- Both copies I have are white vinyl with a touch of gray swirling. Very small and light amount of gray.
I have 2 copies and I received both straight from Scion. Both are white vinyl. I am not sure about how many copies were pressed but both of mine are white and since I got them from Scion, I know they are the real deal and not bootlegs. I will probably be listing one of the copies for sale.
Does anyone know what the actual deal is with the vinyl copies of this record? White vinyl, black vinyl, marble vinyl etc. 500 copies only, 250 copies only etc. Starting to get a feeling that some being sold here are bootlegs? Still can't figure out why so few copies are in circulation. Anyone have any reliable info? Thanks.
F*** YOU Scion Audio/Visual, only 500 copies pressed ?
The Sphinx of Driz
There was only 500 copies of the black.
Price seems to be starting to come down! (Still $135 though!)
According to one seller here there are 500 black copies, 250 marbled, and 100 clear. Another seller has listed a white vinyl copy. So it looks like there's at least 1,000 copies on vinyl, yet only 8 people on discogs have this. Where are the rest? Really don't want to pay $200+ for this!
Error parents
yet more games with a kenny dixon jr release.
I bought a copy from this seller, it seem to be a official release from Scion but i begin to have serious doubt on this seller: he own a huge stock of this and is the only one who give infos on this mysterious promo album... to be continue !!
Vinyl copies starting to appear - here and on EBay, albeit for crazy $$$. Wonder if its about to get a wider release from Scion? Both black and colored vinyl copies now exist.
Get mine on black vinyl, don't know either how many were pressed by Scion..
150 on black wax ? i saw that 150 too were pressed on white wax, and maybe 150 on marbled ? So if 450 total were pressed it seems strange that it was so hard to find, even if the strange distribution of this record make the things harder for making a good estimation.
Does anyone know if this actually exists on vinyl and/or if it will get a wider release (on vinyl)? The third of the three bootleg vinyl 12"s compiling these tracks is now circulating. Would prefer a legitimate vinyl release!
Thanks. Curious to know how many were made as almost no one has a copy (on discogs at least) and, to my knowledge, none have surfaced for sale here or elsewhere. Hoping it gets a wider Scion vinyl release like the Omar S 2 x 12". Otherwise seems like a gift to the bootleggers? (BTW: The sound quality/pressing on the three bootleg 12"s of this release is pretty good ...)
MJH1964Does anyone know if this actually exists on vinyl and/or if it will get a wider release (on vinyl)? The third of the three bootleg vinyl 12"s compiling these tracks is now circulating. Would prefer a legitimate vinyl release! This is the official vinyl release, as long as it's issued by Scion A/V My copy has marbled vinyl as well and is most likely only distributed at Scion art and music events.
